    Julie - Office Administrator

    A native of Toledo, Julie began working at Toledo Day Nursery in high school and has been with us for 29 years. She attended Davis College and helped us grow from manually typed ledger cards to modern-day digital files. Julie capably manages our office and organizational procedures. She and her husband, Sam, have three daughters, and her leisure time interests include gardening, fitness exercising, and playing pool.

    Ericka - Bookkeeper

    With a BA in business administration & marketing/management from Lourdes College and years of experience, Ericka joined Toledo Day Nursery in 2012. She manages the unique bookkeeping needs of our non-profit organization and enjoys her occasional visits with the children and their teachers. In her leisure time, she loves to travel and make memories with her own two beautiful children, who she says “are her world.”

    Julia - Director at Jefferson

    Julia has worked for Toledo Day Nursery since 2016. She started teaching at our Mosaic location and is now a Director for all three of our sites. After receiving her degree from Bowling Green State University in 2015, Julia is currently attending Antioch College to receive her certification in Reggio Emilia. She now focuses on being a new mom to her son, Forrest, and implementing the curriculum into our three locations.

    Chelsea - Director at Stickney

    Chelsea started with Toledo Day Nursery in 2015. After taking some time away, she returned to us in 2022 as the Director at our Stickney location. Chelsea graduated from THE Ohio State University in 2012 - GO BUCKS! She and her husband pastor a church in Oregon and have 3 little girls (Baylor, Hudson, and Hunter), where they spend their time wrapped up in their world!

    Clara

    Clara is from the Dominican Republic, where she earned a degree in Computer Science. She speaks Spanish and English and has six years of previous experience with a child care organization. Clara loves the opportunity to spend time at different centers and age groups. Her leisure time pursuits include spending time with her husband and four children, listening to music, and finding good sales while shopping. Clara received her CDA in 2019.

    Paige

    Paige is a 2019 graduate from BGSU with a Bachelor's Degree in child development. She has always known that her true passion in life is to work with children. Her number one goal is to build positive relationships with each child where they are able to feel loved, seen, and important! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with people who mean the most to her: her family and friends. She also enjoys baking, cooking, and traveling to new places!

    Shanice

    Shanice started with Toledo Day Nursery in the fall of 2020 and received her CDA in October 2021. She is a mother of two children, and she is originally from Maryland. She loves to work on puzzles and read books in her free time, but nothing beats spending quality time with her family. Her favorite part of working with children is their inquisitive minds and imagination.

    Melissa

    Melissa is a San Diego Native currently living in Toledo, OH. She has an associate's degree in early childhood education. She is happily married living on a small farm with Nigerian dwarf goats chickens! She has one daughter, Hannah, and one grandson, Ares, who are my entire world.

    Gabby has an associate’s degree in early childhood education from Owens Community College. She had her daughter in January, 2022 and has four cats. She has experience working with preschool and toddler aged children

    Juliann

    Juliann is the Early Head Start Co-Lead Teacher at the Stickney location. Juli has a bachelor’s degree in individualized studies with the focus on special education. She has several years’ experience working with children of different ages and enjoys working with children because of the positive interactions she has and watching them grow. When not at work, she enjoys cooking, baking, and crafting. She enjoys being with her family, going to plays and spending the afternoon at the park with her nieces and nephews.

    Chris

    Chris returned to Toledo Day Nursery after a year away. She is nearly finished with her Associate's degree from Owens. She has three children and one grandchild. It's great to have her back with our preschool children!

    Breanna

    After attending Owens Community College to earn a medical assistant degree, Breanna enjoyed and gained experience in child care. She now works in mixed-age infants and toddlers at our Stickney Center after receiving her CDA in 2019. She's a Toledo native, and her favorite pastimes include spending time with her family and fiance. Her dream vacation is a cruise to someplace warm and exotic.

    Sharonda

    Sharonda is a preschool teacher at our Stickney location. Sharonda is a mother of one, graduated with honors with her Associate's in ECE, and has been working in education for 11 years. She enjoys working with children and teaching them newfound skills through play and positive interactions. She prides herself on knowing to some degree, she positively impacts the lives of the children she has in her care!

 
  • Located on a bus route
  • Children walk to the community garden
  • Children are able to go on nature walks around the school
  • Children play on our playground that has a rubber flooring to keep them safe
  • The building has three classrooms so there is a family-like atmosphere. The children all know each other and the teachers know children from the other classes.
  • A vegetable garden is planted each spring, by the children, with the food used for snacks
  • We use Remind to communicate with parents on a daily basis.
